About Me

Welcome! My name is Beth. I am a scientist, nurse, leader, mom, wife, first born daughter, and lifelong creative. After more than 25 years in the pharmaceutical industry, I found myself on the edge of burnout and determined to find a way past that feeling without leaving my career behind. A recent promotion into a highly visible role leading global cross-functional teams challenged the self-limiting beliefs that I didn’t realize I had. There were times I questioned my own abilities, feeling like I had no idea what I was doing. To get past this, I knew I would have to dig deep and do my best to remember who I was before the world told me any differently. So I set out on a journey to figure it out by searching for clarity and a better understanding of what truly brings me joy.

This journey led me back to the arts. A weekend trip to the local art studio and I instantly felt like I was ‘home’. I was surrounded by paint splatters, paper, glasswork, sculptures, and so many other crafts. The spark this ignited in my heart was so powerful! I soaked it all in and instantly I knew I was on the right path. I also spent more time decorating my home, dancing when no one was watching, painting, gardening, and I started journaling in the early morning hours. While journaling, I discovered the energizing power of self-expression. In my writing, mostly scribbles, I was able to identify connections between my creativity and my professional life. I realized I was far more artistic and entrepreneurial than I ever gave myself credit for.

This blog is for fellow creatives in STEM and anyone who may be feeling stuck in corporate life. It is a safe space to explore how we can thrive professionally without sacrificing our creative spark. I will share stories, reflections, and strategies for navigating corporate culture as a multi-passionate person because there is room for all of us.

If you have ever felt like you don’t quite belong, or that your creativity is anything less than a superpower, you are in the right place. I am so happy you are here!
